Hidden Voices in the News and Online - Anti-war

Buried Opinions... Anti-War seems to be a sore subject in the United States. The United States spends more on the military than 90% of other countries. In a way, this provides proof of the value of war and protection in the United States. If the country didn't plan on going to war at any point, they wouldn't spend so much funding on the military. While the country is built on the First Amendment, somehow opinions that don’t agree with the U.S.'s point of view on war seems to be hidden and hard to find. While the government cant take down the websites because of prior restraint, they can find a way to suppress the information and make it hard to find. These groups pose as a threat to the government's support and because of this, the government does anything they can to keep the information from being easy to access. The Love Hate Relationship

Technology and how it stole my heart... and then lost it... I think in about fifth grade is when I got my first phone. For some reason when I think about the idea of a fifth grader having a phone it feels like it should be illegal or something. What does a fifth grader even need a phone for? My parents had good intentions when they got it for me. They wanted a way to contact me and know where I was, but what they didn't think about was all of the things I would find. Confirmation Bias- Its Human Nature

Who doesn't like to prove themselves right??? One can think of confirmation bias being what they would see through binoculars . Binoculars zoom in onto one small area that the person using them wants to see. This is kind of like confirmation bias. With this type of bias, a person will only listen to and let themselves see the facts and information that agrees with their preexisting beliefs. This theory is centered around being able to prove ourselves right and prove to ourselves and others that what we believe and say is true. This happens through people ignoring important opposing information. Everyone likes to be right, that is why people tend to only acknowledge the information that backs up their beliefs. Being right and seeing proof of our beliefs leads to self-fulfillment and that is a good feeling that many people wouldn't mind. Unfortunately, confirmation bias can be misleading.
